Our commitment to a more sustainable Rangitīkei.
We love our land, we love our spirit and we love that you want to enjoy it, but in doing so we ask that you follow the Taiki promise & our guiding principles "Leave no trace Rangitīkei" to being a good human and helping us preserve our lands for future generations.
We only have one earth, one Rangitikei, and one chance to love it wholeheartedly.
Let's make it count
What is the Taiki Promise?
Tiaki means to care for people and place.
The Tiaki Promise is a commitment to care for New Zealand, for now, and for future generations.
By following the Tiaki Promise, we are all making a commitment to Rangitīkei & New Zealand. To act as a guardian, protecting and preserving our home.
What is 'leave no trace Rangitīkei'?
This is our own commitment to being good humans in our district being, developed from a worldwide 'Leave no trace' organization and its guiding principles, as promoted by DOC. We will create guidelines and checklists that help you get the best out of our land all while leaving no trace and being a good human...
We are going to be working with some awesome industry cool cats to develop this more over the next short while but leave no trace is essential that ' leave nothing but your footprint.
We don't need to know who you were dating back in 2016, leave the trees be.
Your out camping, it's cold and you need a fire, we feel you just be responsible and make sure you don't burn anything down or damage a perfectly healthy tree to save walking 10 more meters for wood.
Poo in the loo - what a controversial idea.
Take your rubbish with you, there's plenty of roadside bins on your travels.
Put simply, our land needs love and we have to show it.
