Permanent Orienteering Courses at Tutaenui Reserve

A fantastic activity for families, come and explore the Tutaenui Reserve while testing out your orienteering skills! You can pick up a map from the Marton library or print one off the website.
A collaboration between RDC, The Tutaenui Stream Restoration Project and Red Kiwi Orienteering Club has resulted in a permanent orienteering course being established out at the Tutaenui Reserve. You can choose between an easy, moderate or hard course, print out a map or download to your phone and head out to find the markers.
This is a fantastic activity for families, and we are looking forward to seeing people out there with map in hand.

Our 1990’s faux Tudor home, completed in 1992, with the features of Tudor character but all the modern comforts, in a private rural setting. Hosted accommodation comprises three spacious queen-size guest rooms and a twin bed bedroom; one with its own adjacent bathroom, the others have shared well-appointed bathroom facilities.

Tutaenui Reservoir - walkway

This nature reserve is well on its way to becoming a destination recreational space. Head out on this loop trail near Marton, Manawatu-Wanganui.
Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 40 min to walk the bottom dam or an hour to walk both dams. This trail is great for birding, hiking, running and horseback riding. Dogs are welcome and may be off-leash in some areas. There are also mountain bike trails that have been developed on the outer edge of the reserve and continue to be worked on to complete the full loop. These are grade 2-3 mountain bike trails.

Marton Memorial Park walkway

Located off Marton's Wellington Rd behind Marton Memorial Park is this lovely short walk. The loop path is of exceptional quality and takes about 20 minutes to walk around. Lots of mature trees and tranquil spots to sit and gaze at the trees, right in the heart of Marton township.

This is a Rangitīkei District Council owned and managed space head to their website to book this space and bring your next awesome event to our community.

Dudding Lake Hall

The hall at Dudding Lake is available to hire – for weddings, birthdays, meetings, training sessions, and other functions. It is equipped with a full modern kitchen – cutlery and crockery are supplied; a lock-up bar area and modern toilet facilities, including wheelchair access and toilet.
There is plenty of on-site parking. The hall can legally accommodate 100 people for each function, but depending on your requirements and layout of the hall, 60-80 may be a more comfortable limit. Hire costs will depend on your requirements and the duration of your function, please contact us for details.

Dudding Lake, is a recreational facility enjoyed by many of the regions locals and visitors. The lake is great for swimming, boating, jet-skiing, and water skiing. Fishing is permitted as the lake is stocked with trout and has a good population of perch.
The campground is located next to the lake and has powered and non-powered sites for tents, campervans, and caravans.
There is a 2km walkway around the lake planted with native trees and great views of birdlife at the upper end.
